Success Stories

Plaintiff was a multi-million dollar, family owned business located in Orange County, California. The business was owned by a couple whose two sons worked in the business alongside their father. When the couple’s only daughter got married, the father hired his new son-in-law as an outside sales representative. From the first day on the job, the father’s two sons despised their new brother-in-law and his presence in the “family owned” business. The two brothers were eventually able to convince their father to have the company fire their brother-in-law and sue both he and their sister for, among other things, fraud, breach of contract, violation of California’s trade secrets law and breach of fiduciary duty. The firm vigorously defended the couple, successfully defeating the company’s request for a preliminary injunction and filing a cross-complaint against the company, the daughter’s father and two brothers for conversion, unfair competition, misappropriation of trade secrets, trespass to chattels, accounting and to quite title to intellectual property. Through its hard work, the firm secured dismissal of the lawsuit against its clients and recovered more than $40,000 in attorney’s fees and costs on their behalf.
